Job Description

Our Tax Administrator plays a critical role in supporting our small to medium sized business clients and our Tax Team on a year-round basis. This role, operating under The Accounting Office, is located in Northville, Michigan. Your role will be to provide support to the Tax Department including assembly of tax return packages, e-file processing and tax engagement letters.

 

Location:

The office is headquartered in downtown Northville, MI, though this role will follow a hybrid approach where multiple days per week may be home-based.

 

Responsibilities:

Your main responsibility will be to provide outstanding personal service to a section of our small business clientele in the following areas:

    • Oversee the receipt, review and processing of tax documents for clients.
    • Complete the assembly of tax returns including document scanning, filing and archiving, including ensuring all e-filing is completed.
    • Act as an advocate on behalf of clients for resolution of any issues with the IRS as needed (i.e.- tax notice resolutions, questions on taxes, etc.)
    • Participate in tax season events scheduling and coordination for client appointments and meetings.
    • Ensure any outstanding financial charges/penalties are made on a timely basis.
    • Plans, supervises, review and completes client engagements/tax project work
    • Develop long-standing relationships with clients through a high level of client service interactions.
    • Keep current on tax laws/regulation changes.

 

Critical Role Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferably with a heavy emphasis in Accounting.
  • Enrolled Agent strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience working with the IRS on tax related matters for clients.
  • Minimum 1-2 years focused on corporate and individual tax returns.
  • Must be tech savvy and experienced with QuickBooks and MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with UltraTax software is a big plus but not required.
  • Upbeat, confident personality allowing for client and government entity interactions.
  • Desire to learn and grow your professional skills; desire for growth and contribution is a key area

 

Compensation:

We will reward your talents with an attractive salary plus production bonus. The salary range for this role is between $42,000-48,000 annually (plus bonus) based on experience and skills.
