Kevin Hsu

Founder & CEO

Kevin Hsu is the founder and CEO of Prevail, a company which provides accounting, tax, payroll and advisory services to small and mid-sized businesses.
   
Before founding Prevail, Kevin worked at Leonard Green & Partners, a private investment firm with $24 billion of capital under management, where he was actively involved in the acquisitions and growth of companies in the business services and industrial services sectors. Kevin has also served in operational and strategic roles at a nationwide provider of business technology services, as well as at a fast-growing food company. 
 
Kevin earned his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and his B.S. in Business Administration and B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. Kevin is a native of San Diego, CA but now resides near Boston, MA with his wife. Outside of work, Kevin enjoys all things basketball (Go Celtics!), playing guitar, and spending time with family.

Tim Johnston

Chief Revenue Officer

Tim Johnston is the Chief Revenue Officer at Prevail, where he leads revenue growth for the company. Prior to joining Prevail, Tim held multiple leadership roles, most recently as SVP of Sales at Healthcare Bluebook.
   
Tim’s experience leading revenue and revenue operations in dynamic environments makes him an excellent fit for Prevail’s fast-paced, high-quality growth focus. Tim is responsible for setting and achieving revenue goals, aligning objectives with the company’s business strategy, and building a world-class team. 
   
Tim is a native of Massachusetts and earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Endicott College.  He now resides in Colorado with his wife and three kids. Tim enjoys playing golf, hiking, and most of all, spending time with his family.

Phil Thomson

Chief Operating Officer

Phil Thomson is the Chief Operating Officer at Prevail, where he leads both our practice-level and centralized operations professionals in delivering world-class client service and efficiency. Prior to joining Prevail, Phil held multiple leadership roles, most recently as General Manager, Field Operations at Booster Fuels.

Phil brings significant leadership experience in areas such as operational excellence implementation, driving continuous improvement methodologies, and executing strategy on a large scale across multiple business units within the service sector. Phil’s prior roles include serving as Regional Vice President for National Express Transit, and Sr. Director of Operations for Smarte Carte.

Phil is a native of Buffalo, New York and earned his Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Rutgers University. Over his career, Phil has lived in several cities across the country including Central PA,  Boston, MA, Washington DC, and Scottsdale, AZ. He now resides in the Philadelphia metro area with his partner and 11 year old rescue pup, enjoys playing golf and is patiently waiting for the Buffalo Bills to return to the Super Bowl.

Kim Stanley

Chief Talent & Development Officer

Kim Stanley is the Chief Talent and Development Officer of Prevail, where she leads strategy and execution of all hiring, onboarding, learning, development and employee engagement practices.

Kim brings more than 25 years’ international and domestic experience as a human capital leader across all areas in human resource/workforce performance by attracting, developing, engaging, rewarding and identifying talent needs that directly link to strategic goals of an organization in high-growth, fast changing environments.

She founded and led Three Vines Inc., a firm that develops customized learning, development and talent enhancement programs in varied delivery solutions for enterprise clients. Prior to that, she led talent, HR, and training functions at Willis Towers Watson, Liazon, and Iron Mountain.

Kim earned her M.B.A. from La Salle University and her B.A. in Psychology/Business at Susquehanna University.

McGregor Holmes

VP of Finance

McGregor Holmes is the VP of Finance at Prevail, where he leads the finance, accounting, and back-office functions of the company. He also assists in evaluating, completing and integrating acquisitions.
 
Prior to joining Prevail, McGregor was the Controller at Biltmore Farms, a large community development and real estate firm, where he managed the accounting and finance teams. Before that, McGregor was a manager at Dixon Hughes Goodman LLP, a leading public accounting firm, where he advised clients which included private and public financial institutions, asset managers, real estate investment companies, manufacturers, employee benefit plans, and hospitality entities ranging in size from $30 million to over $4 billion in assets.
    
McGregor earned his M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his B.S. from Appalachian State University.
