In 1979, accountant Bob Wolfe and his wife Joan founded Wolfe Financial Group, with a mission to provide outstanding accounting, tax and investment planning services to individuals and business owners in Lake Mary, FL.

44 years later, Bob and Joan had accomplished a lot. With help from daughter Megan Wolfe, a CPA and partner at the firm, they now served over 150 small businesses and thousands of individuals with full-service accounting and tax advisory.

In addition, Bob and Megan had built a rapidly-growing investment planning practice. In 2023, they decided to look for a partner who could take over their accounting firm to free up more time for them to spend serving their investment planning clients.

But they wanted to find the right partner. Bob and Megan felt that a traditional CPA firm would not be a good fit. For the Wolfes, the “right partner” meant a firm that could help grow their practice to the next level, while maintaining a great experience for their loyal clients and staff.

As they continued to evaluate potential acquirers, they heard about The Accounting Office’s growing reputation and met with their leadership team:

In the summer of 2023, Bob and Megan officially partnered with The Accounting Office. By becoming part of TAO, Wolfe’s accounting & tax team now receives support in areas like HR, recruiting, operations, and business development. The Accounting Office Also Welcomes Managing Director Chaz Stebbins-Williams, Who Will Lead Operations in Lake Mary, FL

In the summer of 2023, Chaz Stebbins-Williams joined The Accounting Office as Managing Director leading the team joining from Wolfe. Chaz brings over a decade of experience working in both public, client-facing roles as well as in Controller/CFO roles where he led finance and accounting teams. Chaz will be working closely with the Wolfes to ensure a smooth transition of duties.

This acquisition is the sixth one completed by Prevail, the parent company of The Accounting Office. Prevail provides accounting, tax, payroll and advisory services to 1,400+ small business owners across the U.S.
